South Simcoe Police Service recognized Bradford Pet Valu for the store's contribution to the service's canine unit.Bob and Liz Pegg, the business' owners, have sponsored the unit since 2006, providing food and equipment for the dogs."One of the most important facets of community policing is partnerships," South Simcoe Police Chief Bruce J. Davis said. "We are very grateful to have the continued support of Pet Valu".Mr. Davis and Staff Sgt. Steven Wilson presented the Peggs with a framed picture of the police service dogs, Ronin and Garen.The South Simcoe Police canine unit responded to more than 300 calls last year, including searching for lost children, tracking suspects of violent crimes, searching for weapons and searching for illegal drugs.
